Description

This 1 Minute Chocolate Frosting delivers rich flavor and quick prep. With just butter, cocoa powder, milk, and sugar, it’s perfect for topping desserts in no time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup (2 oz / 57 g) butter , diced
  • ¼ cup (1 oz / 28 g) unsweetened cocoa powder , sifted
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 ¼ cups (5 oz / 142 g) powdered sugar , sifted
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, cocoa powder, and whole milk.
  2. Microwave the mixture for 45 seconds until it starts to simmer, stirring as needed in 15-second intervals.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  4. Pour the frosting over cake or brownies while warm and let it set at room temperature for about 2 hours, or in the fridge uncovered for 1 hour.

Notes

Ensure the cocoa powder is sifted for a smoother texture.
This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week if it lasts that long!
Perfect for a quick cake or brownie topping.
