Description

These Easter Rice Krispie Treats are a delightful mix of buttery marshmallows and crispy rice cereal, sprinkled with colorful M&Ms. Perfect for festive gatherings, they are quick to make and irresistibly tasty!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 5 cups (174 g) crispy rice cereal
  • ¾ cup (150 g) easter m&m milk chocolate candies, pastel blend, divided

Instructions

  1. Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter and marshmallows together, stirring constantly. Add salt as it simmers.
  3. Once melted and smooth, remove from heat.
  4. Fold in the crispy rice cereal until fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Let the mixture cool for about 3 minutes to avoid melting the candy coating.
  6. Gently fold in ½ cup of the M&Ms.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, lightly greasing your hands or a spatula to press it down gently into an even layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining M&Ms on top and press them lightly into the treats.
  9. Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.

Notes

Ensure the butter and marshmallows are melted slowly to avoid burning.
Press the mixture firmly but gently to keep the treats soft and chewy.
For extra fun, add colorful sprinkles on top along with M&Ms.
