Description

This delicious Hot Toddy mixes whiskey or brandy with honey and lemon for a comforting drink. Perfect for chilly evenings, its simplicity and warmth make it a favorite for relaxation.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups water, simmering hot + extra to heat the mug
  • 3 ounces whiskey, or brandy
  • 4 teaspoons honey, or maple syrup, divided
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice, divided
  • 2 slices of lemon
  • 2 cinnamon sticks


Instructions

  1. Prepare the mug by heating some extra water in a kettle and adding it to the serving cups to warm them up, then discard the water.
  2. Heat 1½ cups of water in a kettle until it simmers, then divide the water between the heated cups.
  3. In each mug, add the honey and stir until dissolved, then add the whiskey and lemon juice, stirring until combined.
  4. Finally, add the lemon slices and cinnamon sticks. Serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
Adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to taste if you prefer a sweeter drink.
This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
