Description

This Strawberry Cobbler boasts an irresistible flavor with simple prep. Made with fresh strawberries, it’s a comforting dessert that’s quick to prepare, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar-for strawberries
  • 5 tablespoons (75g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup (65g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons (150 ml) milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with ¼ cup of sugar and set aside for at least 10 minutes to allow the juices to be released.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  3. Place butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish and put it in the oven for 5–10 minutes until fully melted.
  4. While the butter melts, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Then add the milk and vanilla, stirring until just combined. The batter will be thin.
  5. Carefully take the baking dish out of the oven and pour the batter over the melted butter, ensuring it covers the bottom of the pan without stirring.
  6. Spoon the prepared strawberries evenly over the batter. Avoid stirring.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the strawberry juices are bubbling at the edges.
  8. Allow cooling for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the batter.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an added treat.
Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven.
