- 4 spring onions, thinly sliced
- ½ cup raisins, or craisins
- 1 cup shelled sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup buttermilk
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup, or honey
Instructions
- Prepare the broccoli by separating the florets from the stems, peeling the thicker outer layers of the stems, and discarding them. Grate the broccoli florets and stems using a box grater.
- In a large bowl, combine the grated broccoli, spring onions, raisins, and sunflower seeds.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, dill weed, and maple syrup or honey to create the dressing. Pour this dressing over the broccoli mixture and stir gently until everything is nicely coated.
- Cover the bowl and chill the slaw in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
